Attendance

Dear West Cypress Hills Elementary Families:

Arriving promptly and participating in the entire school day are key to the academic success of our students.  We will be introducing new content while building upon the material students have already learned.  

It is imperative that your child be in school for the entire day.  Our team members are providing instruction every minute of the day.  Each day new concepts and applicable strategies are explored increasing our students’ knowledge base.  Therefore, students need to be present from the first bell in the morning to the last bell of the day.

Disruptions in a student’s schedule such as being absent or tardy to school directly impacts the learning process.  We understand that there are life events, that include illness, that prevent our students from being present at school and we will continue to work with students academically after an absence.  This process becomes more difficult when student absences become more frequent.

WCHE’s academic achievement is dependent upon students being present and engaged in the classroom.  We are closely monitoring each individual student’s attendance daily and will be in direct contact with families as needed.
